Webinar series Library essentials kicks off

In the coming months, you can join a series of practical webinars organised by WUR Library. The webinars cover theory, concepts, tools, and library services related to essential topics, such as searching for literature, research data management, open-access publishing, copyright issues in educational materials, and enhancing research impact and visibility. The webinars will take place at lunchtime on Teams and can be attended separately.

Open education and copyrights in teaching material

Did you know that you often have to deal with copyrights as a teacher? And that WUR stimulates the sharing and reusing of open educational resources? In this webinar, we'll discuss the basic rules for using copyrighted materials in Brightspace and what copyright aspects and licenses apply when sharing your teaching materials. We'll also show examples of open educational resources and databases and platforms for open educational resources. This webinar partly overlaps with the Start to Teach training. Collections & searching

WUR Library provides access to more than 16,000 scientific journals, more than 35,000 eBooks, and over 120 literature databases. How do you find the content you're looking for most efficiently? In this webinar, you'll learn how to identify the most relevant resources and how to set up your search strategy. In addition, you'll receive useful tips on how to set up a systematic search in Scopus and Web of Science. Research data management

During this webinar, you'll briefly be introduced to Research Data Management (RDM) concepts, good practices, and tools. What is the difference between RDM, FAIR, and Open data? What is a data management plan? What are good RDM practices? These and other questions will be addressed. Open access publishing

This webinar provides a comprehensive overview of Open Access (OA) publishing at WUR. What does the OA policy of WUR and some major funders entail? Which OA options exist? How can you publish OA for free or at a discount? What are Creative Commons licenses? We'll address these and other questions and also introduce practical tools to publish OA.
