Wageningen University appoints two Professors holding a personal Chair
Wageningen UR Executive Board has appointed Dr Esther Turnhout and Dr Bart Gremmen as Professors holding a personal Chair. The effective date for their appointment is 1 January. Both researchers have been appointed on the basis of their outstanding teaching and research skills.
The Leiden-born Esther Turnhout was Associate professor (personal chair) at the Forest and Nature Management chair group, led by Professor Bas Arts. Her own chair, The Politics of Environmental Knowledge, forms part of this chair group.
Bart (H.G.J.) Gremmen, born in the Dutch city of Oss, was Professor by special appointment in 'Ethiek in levenswetenschappen' (Ethics in life sciences), a part-time position at Wageningen University. The new personal chair will form part of the Philosophy chair group, which is led by Professor Marcel Verweij.
