Inspired by the presence of a well-known expert in the field, Prof. Robert D. Brown (Guelph University, Canada), we will host an expert seminar that deals with landscape and urban design for climate adaptation on the 25th of April 2013. Such adaptation requires evidence based design methods that take the physical, but also psychological issues of people’s thermal sensation into account.
This type of research about climate responsive design guidelines and related methods is a rather new field within landscape architecture and urban design. We therefore want to share the latest knowledge with each other.
We organize the seminar according to the preliminary programme:
|9.00 - 9.30||Opening and Welcome|
|9.30 - 11.00||Presentations and discussion on guidelines|
|11.00 - 11.15||coffee break|
|11.15 - 13.00||Continuation of presentations and discussion on guidelines|
|13.00 - 14.00||lunch break|
|14.00 - 16.00||Presentations and discussion on methods|
|16.00 - 16.15||coffee break|
|16.15 - 17.15||Continuation of presentations and discussion on methods|
|17.15 - 18.00||conclusion and drinks|

We cordially invite you to join this seminar and give a presentation (max. 20 minutes) that fits within one of the session themes.
Please register with Audrey.Raijmann-Schut@wur.nl until April 15 2013 and send an abstract of max. 100 words on the topic of your presentation along with your registration.
Kind regards, on behalf of the organizers
prof. Adri van den
