11th International Precipitation Conference

Over the years, the International Precipitation Conference has stimulated the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and expertise as a way of improving our understanding of precipitation processes, their observations, estimation, modeling and prediction.

Beginning with the first conference held in 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela, the series has been an important forum that brings together meteorologists, hydrologists, statisticians and engineers whose research includes interest in precipitation.

Results presented and discussed at the ten previous meetings have been published in numerous refereed journal articles and are often widely cited. The series has promoted the importance of such fundamental aspects of precipitation processes as variability across scales in space and time, strong nonlinearity of the involved dynamical process, and the inherent uncertainty involved in precipitation observations and forecasts.

The International Precipitation Conference is unique in its combination of interdisciplinary and limited size, and it can therefore be very effective in continuing to stimulate interdisciplinary discussions on precipitation research.

Submit abstract

Abstract submission

Abstracts of oral presentations and posters will be published in the conference abstract book. Want to contribute an abstract?

Participants wishing to contribute an abstract should submit an abstract of 300 to 500 words in English through the conference website. After reviewing the abstracts, the scientific committee will select a limited number of abstracts for oral presentations during the conference.

Route description

Route

"De Reehorst" is situated in Ede, at the very centre of the Netherlands. It is at just 250 metres from the Ede-Wageningen railway station, and a 5-minute drive from the A12 and A30 motorways.

By public transport

From the railway station, it's a short stroll to "De Reehorst". Descend from the platform and turn left at the bottom of the stairs, towards the south-side exit. Keep walking in a straight line and you will find ReeHorst at a few minutes' distance on your right.

By car

From the direction of Utrecht/ Arnhem:
From the A12 motorway take the exit Ede/Wageningen (exit 24). Follow the signs to Ede and then the ANWB signs to “Reehorst”.

From the direction of Den Bosch/ Nijmegen:
From the A50 motorway (in the direction of Arnhem) switch to the A12 in the direction of Utrecht. Take the exit Ede/Wageningen (exit 24) and follow the signs to Ede, and then the ANWB signs to “ReeHorst”.

From the direction of Amersfoort:
From the A1 motorway (in the direction of Barneveld) switch to the A30 until the exit to Ede. Turn left in the direction of Ede, then take the second right turn to Ede. From here follow the ANWB signs to “Reehorst”.

From the direction of Zwolle/ Apeldoorn:
From the A50 motorway (in the direction of Arnhem) switch to the A12 in the direction of Utrecht (at junction Grijsoord). Take the exit Ede/Wageningen (exit 24). Follow the signs to Ede and then the ANWB signs to “Reehorst”.

On provincial roads from the direction of Apeldoorn:
On the N304 provincial road you can follow the signs to Ede. Upon reaching Ede, continue straight on and follow the ANWB signs to “Reehorst”.

The parking lot of "De Reehorst" has 700 spaces. The fee is € 5.- per day.
