I did my thesis on pesticide adsorption in organomineral complexes at SOC. Having the chance to work on a subject that was environmentally and socially relevant from a natural sciences perspective was a rewarding experience.

I also found the working environment at SOC to be quite welcoming. Working in the lab meant learning a lot and staff and other students were willing to help if needed.
For my thesis, I had to dive into the literature and try to really understand what was happening in my experiments (or what could be improved in my methods). My supervisors were supportive during this process which helped a lot. I would recommend students interested in the topics researched at SOC to consider carrying out their thesis with this group.
