My name is Weiwei Liu, and I am a new PhD candidate in the Education and Learning Science (ELS) group. I completed my bachelor's degree in life sciences in China, and subsequently obtained a master's degree in Science Communication from Delft University of Technology. My master's thesis focused on exploring the mutual learning process in the innovation of medical devices. Additionally, I worked as a student assistant for a master's course called Joint Interdisciplinary Project (JIP) during the final year of my master's studies. It was during this time that I became fascinated by the potential and creativity that students exhibit when collaborating with individuals from diverse study programs.

Motivated by this experience, I have decided to pursue a doctoral degree in transdisciplinary learning within the ELS group, with a particular emphasis on examining the extent to which students exercise human agency in transdisciplinary courses and projects. I am also interested in exploring how the learning environment can empower students to be more actively engaged in transdisciplinary learning. My PhD project is under the supervision of Dr. Harm Biemans, Dr. Renate Wesselink, and Dr. Valentina Tassone.

Furthermore, I am a part-time content writer for a Chinese social media platform focusing on psychology and neuroscience.
