S (Seth) Tetteh

Seth Tetteh is PhD candidate in the Knowledge, Technology and Innovation (KTI) Group. He has strong interest in public opinion and science policy, critical food research and food systems transformation. His past works focus on public understanding of novel techniques of agricultural biotechnology and responsible innovation. A paper he developed from one of his past research projects was nominated for oral presentation in the eighth Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD-2020). He has a related work where he developed a comparative analysis of how public discourses and opinion are mobilised and formed around emerging science and technology in the UK and Ghana. Presently, he is working on a PhD research project, Social Differentiations and Interdependencies in Soil Fertility Systems in Ghana. As part of the inquiry, he is exploring how change interventions are orchestrated and upscaled to achieve agricultural intensification and sustainability, and whether or not this happens in a responsible manner. Much attention is also paid to identifying appropriate socio-institutional innovations that could be implemented to support soil fertility restoration efforts in Ghana.

Seth Tetteh holds BSc. in Agricultural Extension and Community Development from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in Ghana and MSc. in Development and Rural Innovation from Wageningen University and Research (WUR) in the Netherlands.
