Externe medewerkerSoil is a huge water and carbon pools, which is mainly regulated by vegetation. Especially in arid regions, the vegetation roots even exceed 20 m deep. This has a significant impact on the deep soil profile. However, due to severe water deficit, the water-carbon cycle in deep soils may not be sustainable. I hope to combine remote sensing and experimental data to explore the relationship between deep soil water and carbon. It's very interesting and I believe they will have significant implications for the future land use management.
