Carmen Dymanus is a PhD candidate at the Strategic Communication Group and is part of the ERC-funded project "Hunting for The Impact of Data-Driven Campaigning on Democracy". In her research, she focuses on improving citizens’ digital literacy and competence when it comes to targeted online political messages, more specifically designing interventions to minimize harms and maximize benefits of this political targeting. In doing so, she combines qualitative and quantitative elements in her research, such as focus groups and (field) experiments. She obtained her BSc in Public Administration at Utrecht University and completed the Research Master Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam in 2022.
