New colleague Ish Thopte joined ELS per February 2024
With a background in fashion design from Mumbai and a master's degree in design management for the fashion industries from London College of Fashion, I bring over 20 years of experience to the global fashion industry.
My master’s dissertation, which focused on sustainable fashion alliances in the UK fashion industry, was later published as a research paper in the Journal of Strategic Alliances. Driven by a passion for driving positive change in the fashion industry through sustainability, technology, inclusivity, and leadership, I have been recognized as one of the '25 Forward Thinkers Defining the Future of Fashion' by FashNerd and named in the Top 100 women in Fashion Tech by WOW London.
Transitioning to my current role as a Senior Researcher in Circular Business at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, I have served as a certified business mentor and coach, aiding the growth and development of numerous fashion tech businesses globally. From designing and delivering business development programs in creative industries to mentoring over 250 international fashion and tech startups, I have curated and hosted fashion tech events, shared insights as a keynote speaker, and moderated panels at prestigious global events such as SXSW, Sonar, and Decoded Fashion.
Excited to apply my extensive experience and knowledge, I have embarked on a Ph.D. journey at Wageningen University, where my research focuses on 'Regenerative business and leadership practices in the fashion industry'.
