Wageningen University ranks among world top for nature and environmental research
Wageningen University is an undisputed leader in the field of Environmental Science & Engineering. The university is second on the international ranking list, surpassing renowned institutes like Harvard and Berkeley. Only Stanford University holds a higher position in this category, with seven more points than Wageningen (730 total). This was recently reported by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy in their 2016 Global Ranking of World Universities.
Wageningen University is ranked between the 100th and 150th place – a position it shares with four other Dutch universities (Radboud, UvA, VU and Erasmus). Leiden, Groningen and Utrecht were the highest-scoring Dutch universities. As a country, the Netherlands is ranked among the top ten institutes of higher education.
This ranking is based on several criteria, such as quality of education, faculty research, the number of researcher quotes and the number of publications in the leading journals Nature and Science.
The Shanghai Ranking Consultancy compiled this list independently. The organisation has published its Academic Ranking of World Universities since 2009.
