Decoding fake news & misinformation: lunch workshop for students
In this workshop, you will learn about the differences between misinformation, disinformation and fake news. You’ll also learn how misinformation can influence us and discover ways to help discern fact from fiction.
Programme
In small groups you’ll be presented with several pieces of information proclaiming facts and will have to find out if they are true or not. This will be interspersed with class discussions about techniques for checking information & biases.
Practicalities
Make sure to bring your laptop for accessing and checking the different sources. This workshop is for WUR students. There's no need to register in advance, just walk in, but make sure to be on time.
