ir. WJ (Joost) Guijt

Thanks to financial support from the IKEA Foundation, Joost Guijt started the African Food Fellowship, which brings together frontrunners from the African food sector so they can join forces and learn about food systems.

The Minister of Agriculture in Rwanda herself asked us to implement the programme in Rwanda, an example of government commitment to changing the food system. Hopefully other countries will follow

Rebekah Tauritz

dr. RL (Rebekah) Tauritz

Thanks to a generous donation from Ouwehands Zoo Foundation and Stichting Zabawas, Rebekah Tauritz developed a research method to study biodiversity education in zoos. For this she studied and developed an extensive curriculum.

We succeeded in explaining biodiversity in such a way that students understand it relates to differences within a species, differences between species, relationships between life forms and different habitats.

Through support of University Fund Wageningen, WUR researchers Imke de Boer and Evelien de Olde became one of the ten finalists of the Food System Vision Prize where they were awarded the title 'Top Visionary' and received a prize of $200,000.

We are very grateful to University Fund Wageningen. Among other things, it connected us with creative people who expressed our vision in illustrations!
