Spatially explicit land use modelling with the iCLUE model

The Environmental Systems Analysis Group provides the possibility for students to do their thesis in collaboration with our group. This is one of many possible thesis subjects. Please feel free to contact Dr Kasper Kok (right) for more information.

The Conversion of Land Use and its Effects modelling framework (CLUE) was developed to simulate land use change using empirically quantified relations between land use and its driving factors in combination with dynamic modelling of competition between land use types. There is an initiative to model the entire world with this model, for a MSc thesis a student can tackle land use change in a single country (preferably South-East Asia), focus on a single land use class, or a single issue (e.g. deforestation).
