Abstract:
Agent-based modeling, a dynamic and innovative approach, has garnered significant attention in academic research for its ability to simulate complex economic systems by modeling individual agents and their interactions. In this presentation, we will start with the definition and key characteristics of agent-based modeling, exploring its diverse applications in Economics. From understanding emergent phenomena to capturing non-linear dynamics, this modeling technique has broad-reaching goals, providing insights into market behaviors, policy implications, and systemic risks. Our discussion will also highlight exemplary academic articles that employ agent-based modeling, showcasing its effectiveness in addressing intricate economic questions.
