Silke Gabbert elected member of IPCP
Dr. Silke Gabbert, assistant professor at the Environmental Economics and Natural Resources Group, has been elected as member of the board of the International Panel on Chemical Pollution (IPCP).
The IPCP was established in 2008 due to a raising awareness of chemicals and mixtures humans and the environment are exposed to, and the identification of a critical gap in the communication between science, policy and the public. IPCP aims to provide leadership in international social science research related to global environmental chemical issues. Based on its scientific expertise, the IPCP supports political processes at the national and international level. IPCP pursues its mission through activities in mobilizing the social sciences and bridging science and policy communication.
